Bad Father....and a director who did not have children at the time...


According to Spielberg when he made this film he had yet to have any kids. Had they been around, he would have filmed the ending differently and the main character would not have left. That is straight from the directors mouth. Having kids changed his view on it. Now everyone can stop arguing a useless hypothetical about a person who doesn't really exist in a situation that never occurred. Right? lol

...btw, I know the rest of you will continue on slinging *beep* on each other like monkeys because the other person does not agree with you, but just for the record the director himself does not fully agree with the ending now that he has been a father a number of years.
