What a cast!

Regardless of how you feel about this film, it's hard to deny that it had a stellar cast, many of them very early in their careers: James Woods, Randy Quaid, Louis Gossett Jr., Perry King, Don Stroud, Charles Durning, Burt Young. This is either a triumph if you love the film or a tragedy if you hate it. I'm one of the latter, unfortunately.

It is quite a cast. Fun to see James Woods so young. Like others, I read the book (in the 70s) then saw the movie. I was probably in my late teens, so liked the highlights of the hi-jinx that were in the movie. Recently watched it again and was less impressed. Wouldn't say its terrible.

Like 'The Outsiders', its fun to see a cast in their youth, but certainly neither is a masterpiece.

Does anyone know who Sperwhales date was at the pond scene where the duck is eating roscoe's crotch? Dressed in Frauline garb. She lookes awfully familliar.
