DVD?

Any chance this will make it to DVD?

It'd be tough. The last time anyone saw the rights to CC it was in De Laurentis Entertainment's bankruptcy filing. Given the fact that Mel Simon has gone back to shopping centers and Walter Shenson is just gone, unravelling this mess is probably more than any distributor wants to bother with. You could try to get Rhino or Shout Factory interested, but...

Capture a VHS and burn it yourself.

I thought Sony acquired the rights to the Embassy film library when they bought the company from Norman Lear in the mid-80's.

I heard Lions Gate bought this title from Studio Canal

The Showtime airing had a canal plus logo on the front end, and I heard the same about Lion's Gate. Maybe they'll do a decent DVD with some extras/commentary, since everyone except Silvers and producer Walter Shenson are still available, as far as I know.

I copied this funny movie off of Showtime HD and onto a DVD. Great sound picture and in widescreen. Let me know if you want a copy.

hi, ive been looking for this film for a long time.
would you be interested in a trade?

reply

It would be easier for you to catch it on Showtime. Do you know someone who has Showtime? If not, drop me an address.

By accident (and luck!), I was surfing the satellite channels and saw it was coming on this afternoon. I had 20 something minutes before show time so I grabbed a blank DVD, stuck it in and waited for the beginning to record it.

This is one that has been on my "want list" for years. Now if only I could find:

Amateur Night At The Dixie Bar & Grill (1979 made-for-TV)
Bad Ronald (1974 made-for-TV)
The Dollmaker (Jane Fonda 1984)
Drive-In (1976 made-for-TV)
Hapy Birthday, Gemini (1980)
Spring Break (1983)
Where The Boys Are '84 (1984)
and
The Wild Life (1984)

Actually, Drive-In wasn't a made for T.V. movie. At least, I don't think it was. It was released by Crown International Pictures. Drop me a line by email if you want a copy of "Chicken".

Yeah, you need to say more. You worked in a chicken restaurant back then... Did everybody do the stuff the Chicken Chronicles guys did to the food (basketball, etc...) I alway thought that was the most real (and scary) part of it. Tell us!!!

There's a bootleg of the Starz/Cinemax print out there -- I can't recommend it, really, only because the cast and others won't get a dime out of it. So I second the motion -- Lions Gate -- put this sucker out legitemately!!

Agreed!
