Goof Re: Casey's Home City (Possible Spoiler)

At the beginning of the film when Casey is shown in various scenes running around an inner city with her friends causing havoc I had the impression she was in Manhattan. I think one of the scenes showed a Wall St. street sign. Toward the end of the movie when Helen Hayes finds her at the train depot it is mentioned that she is returning home to Los Angeles. Was this a goof or am I wrong about her being in New York at the outset of the film. Or was she in NYC at the beginning but for some reason is going to LA when she returns to the US?

It was filmed in L.A. and I always thought it looked like L.A.

It sure looked like New York to me in the beginning.

It's Los Angeles and always referred to as such in the movie. In the scene where you see "King O'Salad" in the background, you can clearly see the street name of "San Julian Street", which is a few blocks south of Downtown LA.

And...New York doesn't have a monopoly on the name "Wall Street" and tall buildings and grimy atmosphere. They have onein Los Angeles as well. Also, the hotel after the Englishman picks her up is the Universal Hilton, as you can see when the car pulls up.

I actually do think that there is a "Wall Street" in LA...just like there is one in San Francisco, and in Manhattan!

There are (were)at least 4 Wall Streets in L.A.

One appears to have been razed to make way for shipping docks, which would be the most likely location we saw from 1977. The others are mostly residential areas, not the industrial area we saw in the movie.
