Just read the review of Candleshoe in todays Daily Mail weekend TV guide...

"Jodie foster in her final film for Disney - playing a child prostitute in a knockabout romp staring Daved Niven"

Someones getting the bullit for this one.

Sounds like they combined Taxi Driver and Candleshoe into one role. In Taxi Driver she played a prostitute, in Candleshoe she is merely a juvenille delinquent.
I can't imagine a Disney movie with prostitutes. That's why they formed the Touchstone Studios.

That goof is on a par with one of the IMDb reviews here that states that Helen Hayes won her supporting Oscar for "The Happy Hooker"! Doesn't anyone proofread these things?

Oh my goodness, that's the biggest laugh I've gotten today.

Personally, I think I have too much bloom. Maybe that's the trouble with me.

Well, to be fair, Foster worked on both films one after another. Yes, it's lazy research, but you can kind of see how the mistake could happen.

As far as IMDB goes, this isn't exactly the Encyclopedia Brittanica. For a while, American actor Raynor Scheine and German actor Reiner Schone were listed as the same person. Scheine is a Southerner, who apepared in movies like The Quick and the Dead, while Schone appeared in Babylon 5, with a distinct German accent.

I've read that she declined the role of the child prostitute in Louis Malle's Pretty Baby to star in this film. Maybe they made the mistake based on this fact.
