I'm 34 (1977) and used to watch it at my Grandmother's house on VHS when very young

Thats the exact same as me. Me and my brother watched this everyday maybe 2-3 times a day. My granny and papa died in 2009. It was on today on channel 5, i was seriously sad watching it as it brings back great memories

I had just turned 7 when this movie was released in 1977 and I still enjoy it some 35 yrs later at age 42. You're never too old to enjoy a good Disney movie.

I am 41 and saw this movie with my mother when it was originally released.

I just watched it again last night for the first time since then! The memories came flooding back. I was surprised at how much I remembered.

1977 is a very idealized time for me because I was so young, and really falling in love with going to movies. I certainly remember spending a lot of time watching Star Wars that year!

I remember Candleshoe fondly because the whole adventure and romance of it really resonated with me at the time. I remember leaving the theater, running to our car, all pumped up from the final action scenes (so funny what kids find enthralling!). Jodie Foster was very engaging in the role, and I remember thinking her street wise, smart aleck-ness was really cool. It's funny, because I see many say they developed a crush on her after watching this, and I certainly did too! Looking back, she was such a tomboy, but I guess something about that really appeals to little boys. Conversely, she was much more ladylike in "Bugsy Malone," which I also saw. But this is the one that struck a chord with me for some reason. LOL!

When I go back and watch stuff like this from my youth, I'm sure many can relate when I say I'm often disappointed. Candleshoe, however, while more old fashioned than I remember (apart from a few hairstyles, it could have easily been made 15 years earlier), is still a lot of fun to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I'm 34 now but I was probably between 8 and 12 when I discovered this. I've yet to find a hallway with the slip and slide in this movie.

45 here :)

Let's put it this way; I was 11 when I saw this in its original theatrical run.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

I saw it in a theater when I was 8, after it had just been released. That was 40 years ago and I haven't watched it since, but I still remember enjoying it. This was classical Disney and representative of how much better Disney was back then.

I am 51, and watched this for the first time today. I had been aware of the movie since the 1980's, but never saw it before now. It was a fun family movie of a type simply no longer made. A great pity.
