Someone should remake this
Someone should remake this!! This is my most favourest story ever
shareIf this is your favorite movie ever, then why do you want it to be remade? If you like it that much, you should be happy with it as it is and hope that they never remake it.
This is one of my favorite movies and I don't want it to be remade. It doesn't need to be remade. A remake would be a disaster.
«I was on the fire escape! I saw ya!»
I said this is my most favourite STORY ever.
shareYes, but since it is your favorite story, I assumed that the movie was your favorite. Does that mean that you like the story but not so much of the movie itself? Is that the reason why you want it remade?
«I was on the fire escape! I saw ya!»
This movie's good too. I just want everybody to see this story
shareI think I am beginning to understand what you mean. You want them to make a remake so that more people discover this great movie. That's it, isn't it? Well, that is a way. I believe that remakes have that effect: after watching them, some people find out that there is an original version, and a remake can lead them to the original.
However, I wish remakes weren't needed to "attract" people to the original. Instead of remaking, what they should do is to re-release the originals in the theaters and give them proper propraganda. Unfortunately many people only get to know the remakes and never get to know the original versions.
«I was on the fire escape! I saw ya!»
I assume he's not talking about this movie specifically but rather the story which could be told through a remake or through this movie or through the book. That's at least my take on it.
Anticipating the end of the world is humanity's oldest pastime
I also think someone should remake this. I love the story but the film tricks are so old fashioned my children laugh watching the dragon.
shareAs i said in another thread:
For the love of god do not remake this! I shudder when I think about how extremely ruined this story will be with today's obsession with too much visual effects. Today fantasy movies in particular (*cough Hobbit cough*) are like watching video games, totally free of charm and focused only on cool effects. Sure, the effects in this may not be very good, but so what? Use your imgination. Astrid Lindgren sure used hers and imagination is what I associate with all her stories.
You've got your wish, it's being remade by Tomas Alfredson (Let The Right One In, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and it's scheduled for a Christmas 2014 release in Sweden.
At least it's in capable hands
Indeed, very capable hands, the guy writing the script is John Ajvide Lindqvist aka the guy who wrote Let the Right One In (and is great at writing child-characters), and the guy doing the actual filming is the same guy that Alfredson used in Let the Right One in and Tinker Tailor for example. Capable hands.
