where the parachute drop scenes filmed using military or civilian parachutists ?

They were all paratroopers in the then current British Army as far as I know.

There just seemed so many of them in the scenes and without CGI back then it must have taken some doing

In the credit, Dutch Army paratroopers (and Belgium, if I'm not wrong) are cited.

I'm positive that those paratroopers were involved as well as the british ones.

They probably were, I was just going by memory. I knew 2 Para was involved.

Hi I was in 1 para at the time and and jumped in all the scenes
