Weren't they waaaaay too close to that hangar?

When they set off the "bomb" (or whatever you call it) in the hangar, it's supposed to be a full up test of the system, but instead of 222,000 darts, it was just a couple thousand or so. Right?

But they said that those darts travel at 600 meters per second. That's 1968 feet per second, much faster than a rifle bullet.

What the hell were they doing standing only about 100 feet away? Why weren't they killed?
There's no way those darts, with that veolicty, are just going to stop after 100 feet. Even if they were 100 yards away, they'd still be just as dead.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

What we're to assume, is that the velocity of the darts was cut way down once they passed through a hard surface. In this case, the walls of a barn/hangar. Those walls looked pretty flimsy, but hey, it's Hollywood.

Exactly.

Also the "bomb" was one-sidded facing out toward the door end of the hanger. When they set it off they were off to the side. If you look again you will notice there are not holes in the sides of the hanger just the font
