Decent movie, for the times....but had to laugh at one bit..spoilers

At the very end. When the Blimp has made it into the stadium, Lander has it just where he wants it, but then he lights the back up 10 foot fuse at the very tip.. Doh!!

Like there is some cosmic rule that bomb fuses can"t be lit in the middle, or God forbid right at the end, so maybe you can avoid the few minutes it takes the whole fuse to burn through, as your dragged away from the target...lol

But overall, I think it holds up from when I watched it as a kid, granted it was logically a much too complex plan to be realistic, but given the day and age we're in today, a pretty profetic movie, as I'm sure there are folks out there at this very moment trying to figure out how to get a big bomb into a big stadium full of people.

Being a huge football fan, I thought the filming during the game was great. I especially loved the wide panning shot that shows the Bomb on its trailer going down the road outside the stadium, the camera then pans into the crowded stadium with the game in full swing, then zooms into our hero standing on the sideline, all one continuous shot, great stuff.

I had seen the film it first came out and remember it being exciting. Now I look at the mechanics of the film-making and are amazed in what they used to get away with. The crane shot (or I actuality believe it was a helicopter) you describe was genius. Not too many directors would attempt that now, and not to many insurance companies would let them do it. This film would be much less amazing filmed today because it would be too much green screen / CGI.

Wasn't Lander shot and dying when he lit the fuse? I remember him just barely reaching it.

"Decent movie, for the times..."

Because there were very few decent movies prior to the last few years.

Yeah; I noticed where he lit the fuse as well. Good point.

But if he lit the fuse more efficiently, the bad guys would have won.

Oh, wait... you probably think Black September were the good guys.

FUCK Palestine.
