Didn't Age Well...

This film is VERY much a period piece of the mid-70’s, It’s got the look of a ABC-Made for TV Movie.
I’m sure the special effects they had to work with at the time were awesome… And looked awesome… AT THE TIME. Now, it looks cheesy-hokey.
The story kicked ass, nothing wrong with that. The acting was well done... But this film needs to be remade with CGI, and all of today’s special effects technology has to offer.

Because this film didn’t age well, and the fact that it’s overlong, I can understand why it’s not really known as a “classic”.

This movie, like Network a year before it, was remarkably prescient and more relevant today than ever.

A "period piece of the 70s" you say? Many of this film's themes, which were pure fantasy then, have become a harsh reality in today's world.

Black Sunday is hands-down one of Frankenheimer's best films, and one of the best political thrillers ever made, period.

But this film needs to be remade with CGI, and all of today’s special effects technology has to offer.

Yeah, you're worse off than I thought. I'd raise my pint to a commendable, if not ambitious troll-job, but sadly I don't think that's the case.

You are an idiot.

You know why CGI is so common today?

Because it is actually cheaper to pulled off effects through CGI rather than do it the old school way and used real life props and mechanical special affects.

Not because it makes the effects look better. In reality it does not. It makes it look less realistic and more animated.

You are either a troll or a 15 year old inbred retard.

Let's lay of kfpaul a bit,

Now I disagree that it hasn't aged well. The ONLY thing I didn't like about BS was the ending was WAY too abrupt. The final explosion was pretty silly looking. If the movie was remade today, I wouldn't want too much CGI, but I would DEFINITELY want the final scene to be done better.

i think for the group of people it really touches, the subject is too sensitive for it to ever be considered a classic. this isn't like diehard where you are truly "rooting for", but you are instead wondering "what if" the entire time. dern does a really great job as a loose cannon.

Keep it to yourself Pacman.

I just saw it again for the first time since probably 1978, and it really did seem like made-for-TV movie a lot of the time. But it was still a very enjoyable watch.
