Bilitis sounds like a medical complaint. Appendicitis, hepatitis etc.

Well, Candida Royalle has the same name as a yeast infection...

Candida was an adult film star. Candida is also the fungal infection known as "thrush". But yeah, "Bilitis" does sound kinda like "syphilis". 😕

There was/is a group formed during the 50s - "Daughters of Bilitis" - that was for lesbians.

I forget who Bilitis was - maybe Sappho's lover?.

Anyway, now you know.
