Backroads reminds me of a downmarket blend of Easy Rider and Two Lane Black-top if that seems at all possible.

Made literally on the smell of an oily rag, I think it's real value lies in the seeing Phillip Noyce's first short feature, which preceded the far more recognized (and far better) Newsfront, also starring Bill Hunter.
