The Templeton's apartment...

Who loved it? I did! I loved the paintings in the ceiling.

I wonder if that was a real apartment they filmed in, or just a set?

Don't know if it's a set or a real apartment, but it's at least based on a real apartment building--the Hotel des Artistes right off of Central Park. When Bill gets out of the cab (when he sees Hoover walking quickly away), you get a glimpse of the Cafe des Artistes awning which is attached to the apartment building. Great restaurant! I went there just once but never forgot it--gorgeous artwork.

What I don't understand is how quickly Bill and Janice must've gotten rich. Ivy is nearly 11, but when she turns four they are too poor to afford a store-bought cake. But 6-7 years later they're wealthy enough to afford a huge apartment in the Hotel des Artistes? That's a *very* exclusive address. I can't remember exactly what he does but I believe in the book he's supposed to be in advertising or something?

I think that when Ivy is "remembering" her fourth birthday and talking about her birthday cake it is Audrey Rose who is doing the talking. That was the turning point in the hypnosis session. Audrey Rose died at five years of age so she as well as Ivy could have remembered a fourth birthday.

I have wanted to live there since I was 7 when I first saw this movie.

Love it!! The ceiling with the classic paintings set into it is beautiful and sinister.

Yes, it looked nice and cozy.

I've always loved it, and just checked out of interest - A small studio is over a half a million.... Nice... :-)

We're gonna need a bigger boat
