teeth down the pants

Love this film but did anyone else think the scene where Mr Lucas puts those joke teeth down the shorts on that dummy was a little pathetic ?. It was done in the style of a silent Charlie Chaplin film or something, and especially when Mr Humphries jumped into Captain Peacock's arms , what where they thinking.
