Theatre version vs Video

"produced in 1976 and issued to theaters by Roger Corman's New World Pictures in 1977. The MPAA classified that version of the film with an X. It was later reedited to receive an R, which is the version available on video." ~ Donald Guarisco, All Movie Guide

Has the full version ever been available in any form? Anyone know details on the edits?

The only edit I'm aware of is that some versions lack the scene of the baby splattering on the pavement -- but I think it's on the VHS copy I've seen so it's a confusing comment.

The film had been edited from what was originally shown in theatres for it's video release, every video I have seen had the baby tossing scene intact, although it may have been cut for some versions, irregardless, what I'm wondering about is what had been cut from the original release. un-confused now?

Reading "The Andy Warhol Diaries" and there is an entry where Andy talks about seeing the film in a theatre for the first time and he expresses surprise that the baby scene had been left in despite the mpaa threatening about its removal.
