In my opinion one of the finest works of iconic director ROBERT CLOUSE

This is a very interesting 70's Hong Kong production directed by iconic Robert Clouse and produced by Raymond Chow (both from ENTER THE DRAGON fame).
Golden Harvest made this low budget film with a 5 star Hollywood cast, which included screen legend Robert Mitchum, Bradford Dillman, Leslie Nielsen (when he was still a terrific serious actor, before turning into silly spoofs) and Richard Egan.
Chinese character-actor George Cheung (from RAMBO II fame) is also here, as Mitchum's brave partner.
The plot is strong enough, the action sequences are fast paced and very well directed.
Also, the terrific jazzy score by Hal Schaefer and the various locations (Hong Kong, Amsterdam, London..) give this film an intriguing international "detective atmosphere".
In my opinion, THE AMSTERDAM KILL is a very well made B action /espionage movie and without any doubt one of the finest works Clouse did after ENTER THE DRAGON (along with THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR and BLACK BELT JONES).
Too bad that the only available version on DVD (which I have) has poor quality and no extras on the menu.
However, I strongly recommend it if you are a Robert Clouse fan.
You won't be disappointed !!
