This was not a Ripley movie

Purple Noon and the remake with Matt Damon were Ripley. AF is just a crime movie, could have been named Joe Smith or John Jones and been the same movie. Really disappointed in this movie. Even the book author did not like it. But she once said in an interview that once she sold the rights to a book she was done with it. Would make no input to the movie. As far as the filming, it was dark and muddled. Watch Purple Noon and see the difference.
