Something I have noticed.

Alucarda was directed by Juan Lopez Mocetzuma who was a friend of Alejandro Jodorowsky who is infamous for making El Topo, The Holy Mountain, and Santa Sangre. Not only is Mocetzuma a protoge' of Mr. Jodorowsky, but he has barrowed much from him, not only the use of black white and red as primary colors ( this is based on alchemy, these colors represent the three ingrediants used to turn base metal into gold, as a spiritual path alchemy is based on purifacation by fire to become golden yourself.) but also Mocetzuma was given the props that were discarded after the filming of the Holy Mountain. There is a scene in the Holy Mountain in which a Jesus look alike is used by some fat drunkards to make life sized jesus replicas, they feed this look alike liquor till he passes out then they make a mold of his body and mass produce these figures. The look alike wakes up finds the room is filled with 100's of his life sized replicas. If you watch Alucarda you will see these very same life sized jesus dolls covering the chapel walls, they look a bit aged and colored to look more like stone, but it is the exact same replicas. I thought this was most interesting.
