Why is the title spelled this way?

What's with the extra "c" in "Schock"? Is it to distinguish from Vincent Price's "Shock"? Unfortunately, the title is only one step away from "Schlock" with this spelling.

Maybe the reason for the spelling is the same as why this is also titled "Beyond the Door II," which has nothing to do with "Beyond the Door" or "Behind the Green Door."

I kind of like it. I'm always tempted to write the letter c in "shock" every time I write it because of the movie.

Schock is the German spelling of Shock but I have no idea why they chose to use that on the Italian theatrical release poster.

It’s also known as Beyond the Door 2.
