Jaws reference?

Did anybody else notice a possible reference to the ending of Jaws in the way that the 747 sank in this movie? In both cases the shark/plane are pointed towards the right of the screen and sink nose-first downward in the water.

Maybe you're thinking of the Jaws ref in Airplane! where the tail fin is just above the clouds. haha
