Interesting revelation

I did a phone interview with Robert Vaughn today, and this show came up when I asked him about projects he'd done for television that he'd hoped would've done better. Apparently, despite the Emmy success, the ratings weren't terribly high; as a result, the planned sequel was scrapped...which really upset Vaughn, as he'd already seen the bible for the sequel and was extremely excited about diving further into the project. Oh, well...

Once corresponded with Vaughn about the series-confirmed my view that Flaherty was based on Bob Haldeman. Was rather surprised that Vaughn didn't mention the series in his autobiography.
Incidetally-who else was meant to be who? I know that Monckton was Nixon,Tesler Kissinger, Anderson LBJ,Elmer Morse Hoover, and the deceased Bily Curry JFK-But who were Messrs Ferris,Castle and Gardner based on,if anybody?
