Another embarrassment from the 70's

Truly awful. Cheap sets. Horrendous acting to even worst dialogue. Just plain stupid. I don't know how I survived that decade. All my friends constantly drooling over crap like this. Thank you mom & dad for refusing to let this play on our set and raising me on historical dramas and documentaries. Juvenile humor ruled that decade and the millennial's are the result.

You need to get laid.

lol

reply

>I was raised on historical dramas and documentaries, everyone!

Wow. You changed a lot of minds in here. I'm impressed with you.

reply

I grew up reading Proust and and doing jigsaws.

I win.

reply

This decade is probably worst.

But yea, you should’ve grew up On vinyl and philosophies.

reply

This show is the pride of the decade.
Truly, a work of art.

The people in front of the camera were masters of their craft.
Amazing cast like this rarely happens.

reply

I think you may be being sarcastic, but you're right! To a certain extent. I mean Jack and Chrissy especially.

reply

A tiny bit sarcastic, maybe. But I do believe the cast had a lot of talent.

reply

I'm not a millennial but I loved this show growing up. You're not unique in having watched historical dramas and documentaries. We all have. Maybe we are more well rounded then you. You sound kind of boring. I guess you have your parents to thank for that.

reply

Damn!

Both barrels from the new kid in town!!

I liked the cheap sets, crummy acting and ridiculous dialogue...What a fun show
Welcome to MC👍

Lol! Eh the poster is being a snob. Yeah I used to frequent the IMDB boards as shagg63070-1. I thought I would give these boards a try since they are an extension of the old IMDB boards.

reply

He was being a snob, but the show was awful. The premise was lame, and the jokes made you cringe. Still, I did watch it at the time. Unlike the OP, I was not raised exclusively on award winning documentaries.

reply

"I was not raised exclusively on award winning documentaries"
Sorry to hear that :(

reply

I’m not, I would have died of boredom. I’m not big on documentaries.

Threes Company was one of the better T&A shows on the TV back then. As a kid it was great because cable wasn't in all the cities yet so you had to take your cheap thrills where you could get them... I mean come on you could only watch Masterpiece Theater so many times.

reply

It was a TV style that its originator, Aaron Spelling (father of Tori Spelling) called “jiglesex.” It was a very successful commercial format. Tits sell. By the way, you assholes here seem to think that “snob” is a pejorative. Why? For “snob,” substitute “elitist.” I am a proud elitist. Plato wrote that “there is a natural elite,” comprising 5 percent of humanity, the dominant 5 percent, the alphas of our species. Most of you are not among us. Find a way to be happy.

reply

I thought it was pretty rubbish, too.

reply

You're such a TV snob. I loved the show! There is a caveat though: after Chrissy (Suzanne Somers) left it went straight downhill, but the ones with Chrissy are classics!

reply

I prefer the first few seasons myself but the later ones had something to offer to. Yeah Terry and Cindy were no Chrissy but there was still some fun stuff there
