Early Chrissy - Olivia?

I absolutely couldn't stand the Chrissy character after her drastic change in seasons 3, 4, and 5 (while she was still there). But every time I watch early Chrissy, she reminds me so much of Olivia Newton-John. No one ever says anything about this, so I think it may be just me. But, while not her twin or anything, that comparison immediately comes into my mind (although I do find Olivia Newton-John to be the prettier of the two). Just wondered if anyone else ever noticed this? Thanks in advance for any opinions offered.

Hey Sis! I replied to this thread on the last day of IMDb, and then I got an E-mail notification that you had replied back, but when I went to read it, IMDb had already destroyed the message boards. Damn them!

Anyway, I think that you make an interesting observation, but I can't say that I've ever thought of Chrissy as being like Olivia. She'd have to have much-smaller exeltatas (I can never remember how to spell that damn word) and an English accent, and then maybe I could see the resemblance.

But maybe you're just better at noticing these types of things than I am.

Hi again, Soggybottom. Well, being a woman, I don't generally pay attention to exaltata size, but was thinking in more general terms. Same goes for the voice/accent (btw, ONJ has an Aussie accent) - Olivia Newton-John and Suzanne Somers didn't sound alike, there was something more about their faces (and maybe general body type) that look similar to me. And I'm also not talking about the way Olivia looked in 'Grease'. Much more the way she looked in Xanadu as being comparable to early Chrissy.

Finally, the other reason I mentioned this is because I've been compared to the early version of Chrissy and would prefer to look like Olivia Newton-John! Then again, I have been compared to a million different celebrities over the years because that's what people do, especially when they see a pretty face. Hope that doesn't come across as conceited - it wasn't meant to.

Oh, I see what you're saying now--Yeah, I guess their faces do have some similarities.

Not having seen your picture, I can't compare you to either one, but I can tell you one thing for sure...

You're definitely A LOT smarter than Chrissy!

{And I love reading your posts!}

{And I'm sure you have a pretty face!}

{Not to mention a gorgeous pair of exaltatas!}

{Get your mind out of the gutter--I'm talking about your Ferns!}

That was weird! I started writing this whole long response (hey, this is me we're talking about - what did you expect?) and it just deleted itself out of nowhere! I'm too tired to go into all the things in the previous "ghost-post," but I will mention that I have recently taken up indoor gardening and plant care, although no ferns have passed over my threshold yet. I am no Janet Wood, but am doing okay and - believe me - "doing okay" is incredible when taking into account the fact that for most of my life a houseplant would be dead within a week under my care.

About the photo, I wouldn't know how to upload one if you asked me, and would be worried that some of my non-boards friends would see it's me and what I post here. Since this is kind of a "safe space" for me, it allows me to be honest about kind of personal things. That said, I wouldn't disregard the idea entirely.

Ohhhh, I am waaay smarter than Chrissy. I don't know much about Suzanne Somers aside from what she pulled in the midst of season five, causing them to have to cancel show after show (by not showing up at the last minute 'til they finally wrote her out of the script) in order to try to get a higher salary than any of the other Three's Company actors, including John Ritter. She called herself the show's star and got such a big head that she actually believed that the show could not go on without her. That's the blessing in disguise I was referring to in another thread when I mentioned that Somers did the show a huge favor and allowed new life to be breathed into it. Personally, I don't think it would've lasted many more seasons had she stayed on board. It certainly wouldn't have changed the way it needed to in order to have the later humor and situations that took place. IMHO, it allowed Jack and Janet to really shine and their blonde roommates were fantastic side players.

Obviously, I'm just rambling on now and not making sense. Am really trying to keep these boards going!

Darnet Sis, now I wish I would've been able to see the whole thing! I love it when you ramble nonsensically--Those are my favorite posts of yours to read!

Anyway, you need to get two gorgeous ferns so that I can make all sorts of wacky zany Exaltata-comments about them! But congrats on your indoor gardening--It sounds like you're really coming along!

Yes, I want to see your photo, but I understand why you wouldn't want to show it to a complete stranger (I'd show you mine anyway, but I don't have one online to show either).

Suzanne was way-too greedy and way-too full of herself. I did like her Chrissy-character more than you did, and I think that she had some great moments, but I do agree that Joyce and John (Janet and Jack) carried the show a lot more than she did (as evidenced by how well they did without her).

Hey, did you hear that they had a 40th-anniversary celebration this weekend? I found a YouTube clip-where Joyce, Richard, Priscilla, and Jennilee all reminisced over all those great times, and I don't recall them mentioning Suzanne once!
