So...am I the only one who actually likes it?

I'm going to step out on a limb here. I like it. There, I said it. Granted, I haven't seen the whole show, but from the few episodes that I've watched tonight, I think it's very cute.

No, it's not groundbreaking, edge-of-your-seat television, but it's fun and lighthearted. Lisa Hartman is perfect as Tabitha -- she really nails some of Elizabeth Montgomery's mannerisms and some of the inflections in her voice.

It does bug me that Adam is the older sibling here instead of Tabitha, but I'm getting used to it. I thought it was strange at first that we had never heard of any Aunt Minerva on "Bewitched," but now I don't care. She's winning me over.

Strangely, the series reminds me of a mix between "Bewitched" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," with Tabitha filling Mary's role, the TV station acting as WJM, and Robert Urich filling the Ted Baxter role. The writing doesn't compare to TMTMS, but it almost seems as if this show was trying to follow in its footsteps. Oh, and I love the theme song.

I had heard such terrible things about this show, so I was reluctant to try it, but now I'm glad I did. It's certainly not the best show ever created, but it's certainly not the worst. I'd much rather watch "Tabitha" than anything on TV nowadays. It just goes to show that you can't always trust reviews. If you haven't seen it, give it a try! And if you try it and hate it, then alright, blame me. ;)

If they were to try to do this today, they'd have to come up with better writers and more interesting characters. This show is pretty boring in comparison to Bewitched. I particularly find Adam to be irritating as he follows her around trying to control her all the time. Also, I think they'd have to make her use of her powers more significant than just moving cars around so that she can get into her parking space--especially, after Charmed. It would just be annoying to a current audience that someone has godlike powers and uses them mostly for frivolous things. It worked on Bewitched because of the times that it came out but when they tried to duplicate the premise of some woman with amazing powers being controlled by some man, by the time this came out I think the audience was put off by that. I liked this show when I was a kid and was disappointed that it got cancelled. It would probably appeal more to a kid than an adult.

Nope, you're not the only person that likes it. I have the DVD set and watch the episodes every few months. I think the series got a bit better as it went along. I think if it had been given a second season, it may have found its footing.

That being said, Tabitha isn't anywhere near as good as Bewitched is. It's a cute show but it the writing was beyond weak in most episodes. For me, it's only saving graces were Lisa Hartman and Robert Urich - I think they had good chemistry and were likable.

Oh, there was never, ever a chance that Elizabeth Montgomery would have done a cameo. She was done with Bewitched about two seasons before it even ended and wasn't interested in revisiting the character of Samantha.

No. You're not the only one. I also like the show. I find it fun, cute, and really feel good.
