Tabitha was a great show!

I dont know what this review is talking about! This show was fantastic and fun! Lisa Hartman nailed this role, as every other she has possessed! This is fun TV folks, regardless of its datedness, it was fun. I just bought the DVD and couldnt be more thrilled. This is when TV was fun and free and not some stupid reality show. Long Live the Sitcom!

I agree-I thought as the series found its feet it was canceled. I did not care for the Adam character-could have dropped the character. I also think that the African American witch was a great addition from her childhood. I also thought that Lisa Hartman and Dack Rambo had great chemisty. Too bad he didn't have the love interest room.

About all I can say is that the theme song is awesome and it's inoffensively bland. Otherwise...*shudder*.

But, I'm a Bewitched nut, so of course I own the DVD set. Go me.

I think Tabitha came on the heels of the original series a little too soon. If it had premiered, like, 10 years later, I think we would have seen it last for more than one season.

I remember seeing the original pilot of the show which I absolutely loved. It showed her brother Adam who had turned into an overbearing and powerful warlock. He did not like the fact that Tabitha had forsaken her witchcraft. He was a cross between his Grandfather, Maurice, and Grandmother, Endora. (A Bewitched episode had earlier stated that Adam would indeed grow into one of the most powerful warlocks of his time.)

I was a bit upset when they came out with the series and they turned him into a normal mortal with no witchcraft at all. He then became Tabitha's version of Darrin. Besides that it was a good show but I believe it could have been better.

Yes, the original pilot had Liberty Williams as Tabatha, with a middle A, not an I, as in the screen credits of the original series. She had a boyfriend filling the Darrin part.

A second pilot tried the "Adam as Darrin, and heretofore-unheard-of Aunt Minerva as Endora" formula, and changed the spelling to the TV guide spelling -- "Tabitha"

I know Gladys and Abner cameoed, but I missed it.

Liberty Williams also played Rhoda's seen only once and never heard of again sister Debbie, who got married on an episode of Mary Tyler Moore, causing a trip to NYC for Rhoda.

Oops, should have read the rest of the threads here before repeating all that info. :-)

Sounds like the pilot episode was the better idea...because it was based on the superior Bewitched formula!

i think tabatha was made to soon
i liked tthe fact that adam was normal and tabitha was a witch however it didnt make sense that her school friend was a witch when darin and sam sent they children to normal mortal school and witches send their children to magic school
so how would they meet

It bugged me that they had Adam as the older brother in this series...for what? He called Tabitha his kid sister.

And Dack Rambo??? Did you mean Robert Ulrich?

reply

How is Adam older if Tabitha was born first? I don't get that.

reply

Typed too soon...Dack Rambo just showed up on my screen!

I have the dvd and thought the shows was really good. It's a shame the show didn't last longer.

I liked this show. I wish it lasted longer.

I just watched an episode of it and sorry I can't agree. It was terrible. There were little to no laughs. Family continuity was broken from the original series (Who in THE HELL was Minerva?).

All in all, it's a good thing it was canceled. It was crap.

Remember the magic words: "Please", "Thank you" and "Step off bitch!"
