The name escapes me

...but he was so cute!

He was bald, hairy chested - but I can't remember his name. I loved the way he winked to the audience at the end of each show as they rendered "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight"

If anyone who had watched the Sha Na Na show way back then, could you please help?

"Live long and prosper"

That was Scott "Santini" Powell.

I just found out via IMDB that he was in Caddyshack! He's one of Rodney Dangerfield's drunken companions!

Dr. Scott Powell (Santini)

Yeah, it's funny. One of my usernames on another website is "skanana" because I'm a fan of ska music wrote a song with the same name but I thought about Sha Na Na today and decided to do some research on them. Amazing to hear that many of the surviving members have gone on to great and serious careers in medicine, law and education. Bravo.

After coming across Sha Na Na on youtube and reading up on everything I could find on this talented group, I was suprised to find that these guys started out from college and became professionals in their given field/major. The most impressive one to me was Dirty Dan: he had a Journalism degree. Has anyone read his works? http://www.musesmuse.com/amusemyself.html , great stuff!

He's an orthopedic surgeon now.
In fact, he was on the show "The Doctors" not too long ago with one of his patients. (Even though he's older he STILL looks good!)
