FOR PETE'S SAKE!

When are ALL the episodes of the original Canadian show going to be released on DVD??? It's 2014 and all we have is a best of the early years DVD. I want to see them all again before I die!!

Seconded!! I understand that there are issues with music rights, etc, but why can't they just go in and take out the music or cover it with free music...? With all of the technology we have today, it seems like this wouldn't take too much time/effort. There are probably fans out there who would volunteer their time to make this happen.

I know I would be happier having all of the shows on DVD without the music than not have anything at all!! ...and the DVDs would be less expensive...

SCTV's early years are treasures and it seems like a public service to make them available.

While they are at it, they can go ahead and release Maniac Mansion on DVD as well (many people involved in SCTV created and/or starred in MM).

Thirded!! It was SUCH an amazing show. I used to watch it on channel 2&7 in Calgary, Alberta back in the early '80s. The Network 90 DVDs are available at my local library but it's not the same as the old 1/2 hour shows that were aired. I remember all the old shows - when Harold Ramis was there, episodes before John Candy started, when Robin Duke and Tony Rosato were part of the cast, then Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis started. But all I have to rely on is my memory. Seriously, I didn't even know Network 90 existed until I read Dave Thomas's book and then saw the DVDs. I figured it was always just SCTV, the 1/2 hour comedy show.

In any case, it would be great to see Sunrise Semester, Do It Yourself Dentistry or the one where Andrea Martin taught about body language - the funniest SS ever, in my opinion...

Harold Ramis, John Candy and Dave Thomas came at the same time (the beginning) of the series.

Communicating With Extremities, that's on the Volume 4 DVD set (Season 5).

I too didn't know SCTV did 90 minute shows, was on Global,NBC,Cinemax, and won two Emmys until I read Thomas' book.

I always thought the last episode was the one where Earl retires from SCTV News.

I'd also love to see the Cinemax season.

Agreed, that's the one I'm still looking for.

(converting files as I write this, hoping to finally get a working version of the first season episodes)
