Where is Lewis Collins?

I heard he was living in LA and doing theatre work. Maybe I've answered my own question lol. If anyone knows a bit better detail and maybe an email address where you can contact him, that would be great.

reply

He played a doctor in an episode of The Bill a few years back.

reply

I believe Lewis Collins is living in LA and running a business with this family.

reply

I understood he had set a computer business.
He is versatile actor and is missed.
Looking forwrd to 1066, currenlty being filmed. Also in this is Mark Lester, the Artful Dodger from 'Oliver!'

reply

I see he stars in "1066" which is in post production now (2010), details on IMDB here !!! Good news !!

"What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach."

reply

I heard he looks like an old grandad now, with grey receding hair and a big bushy grey beard.

reply

last time i saw him, he was sporting a "william shatner" type hair style if you catch my drift.

reply

C'mon, the guy is 64. As long as the wig isn't too horrendous, cut him a break. If he's living in LA, he probably can't relax and look his age the same way he could in the UK.

reply

I am not having a go at him, I am a big fan, I really believe he should have played James Bond in the early 80's. He could have been as good as Connery in my opinion. The thing is he is a handsome man and would probably look great with very closely cropped hair, much like Jason Stathtam. I would love to see him make a comeback on British TV.

reply

He apparently was considered for the role of Bond, but was considered too 'rough'!

reply

Really? I would have thought that was just what the franchise needed after the light comic touch of roger moore.

reply

Well, according to Wiki (source - Hill, Valerie (2004) "Lewis Collins", Liverpool Daily Post, 4 June 2004);-

"In 1982 he [Collins] auditioned for the role of James Bond but his audition was deemed "too aggressive"."

reply

He used to be a ladies' hairdresser???????

reply

Yes, maybe the abseiling through the window and stun grenade across the table wasn't the best idea, in retrospect.

reply

Here's Lewis now, looking good, well, alive:

He was a good looking man. I like the sort of sulky look he had.

sadly, Lewis Collins died of cancer on 27th November 2013. British TV company ITV4 are currently running the whole series of The Professionals as a tribute.

reply

ITV 4 had already been running the whole series for some time, so they weren't really showing it as a tribute. It's hard to believe though that such a fit and relatively young-looking actor is no longer with us.

reply

I had never given up hope for Lewis to make it as Bond or to make it in Hollywood. He failed at both, for different reasons, but he tried. At least we have the re-runs of The Professionals to enjoy his acting.
