Seriously...the man was on a different wavelength as far as acting talent goes. I swear if he hadn't done the show NO ONE would have watched it. Yeah...he was THAT good.

Yes, I've just watched the first two episodes of the series again and Gordon Jackson just believes he is Cowley. He acts as though he believes it all. Totally credible. Totally serious. Great actor.

^ Yes, Gordon Jackson was totally awesome! I'm a recent convert to the profs as I was born long after it aired; at first it was just the sheer beauty of a young Martin Shaw that cuaght my eye (yes I said beauty, even with that hair) but the brilliant writing and acting has kept me hooked, Gordon was just amazing, a tremendous actor, pity we don't have more of his caliber these days. I've spotted him in a few old films when he was younger as well, a really hilarious one was called 'Sailor Beware' I think.
