Poldark website

Does anyone know what happened to the poldark.com website? I was constructed by a fan of the series somewhere in the US - Kentucky perhaps. It is referenced in any mention of this TV series on the web; however, it disappeared in March. When I go there now it says the site is under construction.

Hi Brown,
Do you know if this series is available on DVD in the US? Thanks Val in So. Fla.

Poldark is not available in the US in DVD. I purchased the entire DVD set (both seasons) from a company in England called Choices Direct at http://www.choicesdirect.com/shop.asp. I think they cost about $100. You can also get them on ebay. Of course, they were in the PAL format, so I had to buy a region free DVD player. I found one at Costco for about $50 that was region free although it was not labeled as such. Most are more expensive, but it was worth it.

As far as I know, the owner of the site, Ross Carter, seemed to lose interest when Winston Graham died. I did think it was odd that a man who was sufficiently moved by the books to change his name legally to Ross should give up just like that but there you are. Maybe something else was going on...
