The Old Style of Justice

This morning I watched the episode where Charlie Kempthorne was executed by the locals for betraying them to the military. That looked like a lot of money they tossed off the cliff before throwing him after it; you'd think they'd have given that money to the families of the men they arrested.

Unless they had a superstition about blood money. What do you think?

If you're referring to blood money as meaning the betrayal of everyone, then, yes. I would agree that they didn't want any kind of blood money. However, if you're referring to blood money in reference to their throwing him off the cliff, then, no, I don't think that's why they got rid of it. (I hope that makes sense.)
