Barry Justice

I loved Barry Justice's intense performance in The Pallisers, and have been looking everywhere for a biography of the actor, but to no avail. Does one even exist?

Apparently, he committed suicide in 1980, aged only thirty-nine. How terribly sad.

HI...I loved Barry Justice's amazingly emotional performance in The Pallisers too! I'm just watching the mini-series for the first time now. Did you ever find anything out about him...about his life, his suicide? Does anyone know why he ended his life? I've even checked the BBC website and didn't find anything. Very frustrating! Thanks for any info anyone can give!

I remember when Barry Justice committed suicide the newspapers said he had found it hard to get work after "The Pallisers" and fell into depression. Of course, that wouldn't help his confidence as an actor and probably made things worse. I think it's significant he died just 12 days before turning forty. The poor man seems to have felt his best years and opportunities were behind him.

Thanks for setting the record straight. What terrible news! I kept wondering why I never saw him in other projects. In light of all the marvelous elder actors in the Pallisers cast, Justice's suicide seems a dreadful waste of talent. It's strange to consider he once played two such doomed characters as Burgo Fitzgerald and Tom Tulliver (Mill on the Floss).
