Whatever happened to the cast??
I know Barry Evans is dead and so is the guy who played "Ali".I just saw "Max" on "Flight of the Phoenix".Seems to me he's the only one who made anything of his acting career.

There bios for a lot of the cast. I guess the others just moved on to other things.
The actor who played Max, Kevork Mailkyan was also in a BBC 1 programme about the life of Egyptologist Giovanni Belzoni in Autumn 2005.
George Camiller (Giovanni Cappello in MIND YOUR LANGUAGE) was in BBC comedy Judge John Deed last year and the lady who played Su-Li has been in THE BILL on ITV. Other than that, they all seem to have disappeared! I heard that Jamila MAssey (Jamila) is appearing in BBC Radio 4's soap opera THE ARCHERS at the moment, though.
I'd like to know more about Zara Nutley (Miss Courtney). Her filmography isn't very long and she has no biography. I've not found a single website on the internet anywhere that syas anything about her other than the few TV shows she was famous for.
Actually Albert Moses (Ranjit Singh) was probably most successful of the lot. You can visit his site www.albertmoses.com and also email him through the address at the site, I did and he replied very promptly, and sent me an signed picture. But he didn't seem to know what has happened to Miss Courtney or Glady's but as he was the producer of the 4th series, said he will try and find out if the series can ever be released on DVD but I think they have some legal issues there. I also read on a review of the new soon to be released DVD set on amazon.co.uk that Miss Courtney is confined to a wheelchair, but I've no idea how the reviewer knows that unless he knows her personally.
shareI just read that Francoise Pascal who plays French girl Danielle worked in a lot of films and now lives with a grown up son and a long time partner in the UK. She doesn't act anymore. Jamilla Massey did a lot of work in Brit Indian TV shows like Family Pride and Jewel in the Crown. I've always wondered why the Spanish guy Juan never had any lines? And I think its weird that they found a south Indian guy to play a Sikh in the UK, which is full of Sikhs. He's not too convincing to me.
sharei wonder about them too.
any news on what happened to the actors playing taro, su-lee and anna?
i was really sad to learn that mr. brown [barry evans] and ali [dino shafeek] died so long ;( this show was such a big part of my life growing up!
The actress who played Jamila popped up in an episode of the Chucklevision recently, theres a picture of her on her Wikipedia page (taken in the late 1990s, but she still looks roughly the same.)
Had a couple of emails from Tommy Godfrey’s stepson a few weeks ago.

What is Anna Bergman doing now?
sharei think she's retired from acting now, her mother and father passed away recently so its been quite a sad time for her.

Anna was recently interviewed for the sleeve notes of the upcoming UK DVD release of Intimate Games (1976). It should be out sometime in August.

No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.
Gibralter-born actor who played Juan Cervantes in Mind Your Language.
From The Stage:
For more than 45 years, Ricardo Montez appeared in television series, most notably Mind Your Language (1977-79), an ITV comedy set in a school for foreign students learning English. Although it was axed by Michael Grade, who was then London Weekend Television’s deputy controller of entertainment, for treating foreigners as stereotypes, it was sold to many other countries, including India, Pakistan, Kenya and Nigeria.
Montez, who was born Levy Attias in Gibraltar, came to London in the early sixties to try to pursue an acting career. He made his first movie appearance in a Hammer film, Pirates of Blood River (1962), starring Christopher Lee. Thereafter, he found most of his work in television shows, among them, The Saint (1962-69), Don’t Drink the Water (1974-75), which exported Stephen Lewis’ On the Buses character, Blakey, to Spain, the John Mills sitcom, Young at Heart (1982) and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet (1986-2004). But it was his portrayal of the cheerful Spanish bartender, Juan Cervantes, in Mind Your Language, that struck a chord with viewers.
While filming Mamma Mia! in Greece in 2008, he celebrated his 85th birthday with a surprise party thrown for him by three of the film’s stars, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth. Ricardo Montez, who was born on September 20, 1923, died on October 26, aged 87.

Francoise Pascal's partner sadly died in the last year or two. She's contactable on Facebook. In common with a lot of celebrities, she doesn't get involved in "conversations" as such, but posts comments which her FB friends then reply to.
