Gopher - lovable but naive

I realize that this was just a TV show, and the episodes were not meant to necessarily represent real life. But I can't help but be amused at Gopher's being so naïve. I have been watching reruns the last couple of days. In one episode, a passenger told him to stand up to the captain. Then he did, and got fired. (after an apology, he was reinstated). Then he brought a Chimp on board, and tried to hide it. He got fired again (did he really think he could hide a chimp for a week?), but then a protective passenger lied and said that the chimp was hers. Gopher - like I said, lovable but very naïve!

Gopher is so disgusting to look at. He's constantly making this face where he pulls his lips down into this ugly, ugly frown. The actor has no chin. I can't stand him.

Never been young and idealistic? I feel sorry for you.

What does him being physically repellent, IMO, have to do with being young or idealistic?

The remark might have been directed at me. Yes, I was once young and idealistic. But even then, I knew better than to stand up to my boss, and I knew that I could not hide a chimp for a week. (hiding presents was hard enough!)

Oops. Yes, I guess it was. Sorry! I never know for sure if something's meant for me--I got a notification to my inbox, but I should have read more carefully. The boards here are so wonky, even if you do read them in thread or nest form.
