Creepiest moments on the show?

Previously, I thought the creepiest things on the show involved stalkers and people trying to arrange relationships for their spouses, but I have a new contender:

Mickey Rooney plays the part of an angel or something similar in a Christmas episode. At the end, they have a Christmas tree topper that looks like a puppet of Mickey Rooney. When they zoom in on the puppet, it turns into the real Mickey Rooney and he winks! What's worse is that both Rooney and another actor in this episode appeared on The Twilight Zone.

Did you see the one with Red Buttons as the sexual harasser?

reply

Is that the one where he was selling trinkets and jewelry out of his cabin?

There were a lot of episodes with sexual harassment.

In - Where Is It Written?/Julie's Aunt/The Big Deal

It sounds familiar, but I would have remembered Erik Estrada in it, so if I've seen it, it was a long, long time ago.

It's probably on youtube...

Thanks. Eventually, my on-demand should record it.

No, that's a different one. In that one, he was relatively normal. In the episode he's talking about, Buttons was acting pretty rapey. I think Gopher dressed up in drag to get the heat off of Julie.

Earlier today, there was one where Kim Richards played a 13 year old who posed as an adult in order to hook up with Gopher without his knowledge. Nothing went down between the two, but the whole situation was played for laughs. "Ha ha ha, you nearly got put on a sex offender list, ha ha ha."

reply

I totally agree! I wanted to punch Micky Rooney and say, go away you weirdo stalker!

I just wanted to comment on your profile quote. Isn't hell and Texas the same thing? Lol. I lived there for a few years.

A very early episode had Randolph Mantooth and Cathy Lee Crosby (not Mrs. Frank Gifford) as an engaged couple and Robert Mandan from Soap was his father.

There was supposed to be 'chemistry' between Crosby and Mandan and they fell in love and she left Mantooth for Mandan, and he was okay with it when the cruise was over.

I have never understood how that could happen.

reply

IIRC, there was some business involving a dude who took the gig as onboard Santa so he could commit suicide during the cruise.
