stolen background music?

just watched Logan's Run TV Pilot Episode. somewhere through out the show, there is a thread of music that I have heard before but I can't remember where. It is not EXACTLY LIKE the other version, but it continues on and goes to the same place the other version does, like this music was re-used - which is not a huge crime, but I wonder where it was first?

I THEEENK it is the same or very similar music to Indiana Jones: Raiders of the lost ark, or perhaps Star Wars when Han is being separated from Leah and she says "I love you..." and he says "I know", MAYBE that part.

Sorry this is not much to go on, but if I wrote the notes out, I am certain it would be a 95% exact match. Star Wars was also out in 1977, but Raders was not until 1981. It's a grand and memorable tune and deserved use elsewhere also, unless someone stole from someone else. Weird.

Anyone else know the background music I am speaking of?

If the music is similar to "Plant of the Apes" (movie + series) chances are the composer was Richard LaSalle. Alot of his music cues were borrowed (copied?) from Jerry Goldsmith. He was the primary composer for "Land of the Giants" and later most of the '70s action-adventure/Sci-Fi TV series. I bet it was him.

Related but a little OT (and 7 years later)...

Just caught Logan's Run (the movie) on TCM and heard some musical cues that sounded like they came straight from the original Omen. So, in this case, Jerry Goldsmith borrowed from himself, LOL!

When you listen to the main and end theme, directly after the "Pew" "Pew" "Pew" beginning, the music sounds very much like "Marion's Theme" from Raiders of the Lost Ark. No possible way it's a rip off because thus series was cancelled, three years before Raiders was released..
