Any chance this hits one of the cable channels?

I'd love to see it again. My hopes aren't real up for it given the relatively short run, but then I did get to see almost everyone of the Kolchak/Night Stalker episodes when the Chiller Channel first opened up (thought that gem would never again rise from the grave).

Come on Antenna TV bring us "James"

The only repeats after the NBC run was on A&E in the very early 80's, when I was fortunate enough to tape them.

This was a great series. Too bad it didn't get the needed ratings. I remember there was one great player about the deaf soccer player that was great and needs to be shown regularly.

I don't think it could air today, even on cable in the middle of the night. Can you imagine a 15 year old main character losing their virginity in a story on TV in 2014?...even in an old rerun? They'd have an absolute fit no matter how it was handled in the storyline.
Truth be known society is a lot more uptight in this day and age than they were in '70. Quite a few of the reruns from back then have been edited for today's audience because there were actually less restrictions on certain things being said and done on TV then there were back then. I know that sounds completely crazy, but it's true. Some things simply can't be shown no matter what the context is.
Also there's another problem shows such as this one and from that time frame are running into...copyright issues with the soundtrack. There's a few hit records and bigtime (at the time) acts, and the rights for that material lapsed quite some time ago. Add into the mix that it was quite some time ago, so it can be quite difficult track down the right people to get their permission.

Sorry to be such a bummer. I'd love to see those shows again too.

Just in case someone got confused, you missed the "1" button and accidentally typed "Can you imagine a 5 year old main character losing their virginity in a story on TV in 2014?" You meant 15. Same difference, I guess, though that would REALLY not go over well.

I think I remember the Billy Joel hit "Just the Way You Are" on that show. I was around 9-10.

I liked this show. It was, however, NOTHING like my 15th-16th year. Things I id that year would definitely NOT pass the censors.

Love is like breathing. You have to take some in and let it out to live.

Fixed. Thanks for looking out.

There was a jukebox at their after school hang out that was always playing something in the background. I've heard everything from Fleetwood Mac to Paul Simon to Randy Newman to Brick (a show favorite for some reason). Just about ever show had at lest one (then) hit record of not several. I can't help but wonder if it was done as promotion for the records.
Odd as it may seem that episode was banned from YouTube...sort of. It's there, but there's no sound do to..you guessed it..copyright infringement.

Being as it's so obscure now and it as a bit of a flop at the time, I can't help but think it's slipped into the public domain by now, so I think it's safe to put a link up on here. Either way most (if not all) of the series is up on YouTube.
