I wish this would have lasted longer...

Ever since I found it on YouTube, I stay away for a couple months, then go back and watch a couple of shows, then stay away a couple months, then do it again. I also have the DVDS, but am sometimes just too lazy to get them out:(

The show was just a fun show! And, even though Parker and Shaun didn't act it out exactly like Frank & Joe in the books did, it still just is a fun show and they had a great rapport with each other.

I also wish we could have had more of Chet, and some Iola and I was disappointed that Callie was gone after the first year. But, the 2nd season, they were never home!

I guess I was such a big fan of the Boys and their books, when I was a kid. In the 60s and 70s we didn't have all of the entertainment the kids have nowadays. For me it was baseball, wiffle ball, Hardy Boys, and girls, and the pool in the summer (didn't notice girls till I was about 12:)). But, the Hardy Boys were a BIG part of my youth. Plus, I think I got to read them before the rewrites. Believe me, many of the books had Chinese people in them, when I originally read them. Now, I don't know if you ever see one.

They have an oriental theme in the Jade Kwan ... episode, but I think that's as close as they got to an oriental theme, after the re-writes.

Anyway, I wish the show could have lasted longer. Nancy was good too. But, I never read those when I was young. Nancy 1 was way better than Nancy 2, IMO. Except Nancy 2 got along better with Frank:)!

I can't believe it has been 35+ years! I liked Remington Steele too, and it is hard to believe it has been 30+ years since that one debuted. Where has my life gone!? You know what, I hated working so much, and looked forward to my weekends so much that I just wished my life away! You know, constantly wishing it was the week-end!

Ditto, loved this show.

I agree. I did not blame Pamela Sue Martin for leaving. Combing the two shows and relegating Nancy to being a sidekick was awful.

To my understanding, the series lasted only three seasons due to

1) Shaun's singing career take-off becoming a literal balancing act by season 2, including his concert tours and performances on specials like American Bandstand and Solid Gold

2) network inability to find a suitable replacement for Cassidy's departure

3) Parker's career interest change to TV movies and mini-series, and opportunity to produce

4) Pamela's age - she was 23 during season 2, and eventually outgrew what she considered adolescent mystery drama. In that, she'd been offered substantial roles in other series' like Dynasty, Falcon Crest, and even Daytime. And the fact, she'd been reduced to more guest appearances by season 3.
