Peter Bowles as Jerry?

The trivia states that Peter Bowles was due to play Jerry but couldn't due to commitments to Rumpole of the Bailey. But The Good Life began in 1975 and Rumpole did not start until 1978?

Well, i'm glad he didn't anyway. I think Paul Eddington is much funnier than Peter Bowles would have been, I have never cared much for him.

Well, Peter Bowles did appear in what many people consider to be the dark version of THE GOOD LIFE - SURVIVORS (1975). Unfortunately for him, it was a short-lived role - literally.
