theme song anyone?

Does anyone know who wrote or performed the theme song for the British version of the show? Am not sure if it's the same one used for Good Neighbours or not. I've hunted under the names in the soundtracks section but have sadly found nothing. And I don't have any of the episodes so I can't check the credits. Anyone know???

Hello there- the music for The Good Life was composed by Burt Rhodes, who is best known for his jazz and orchestral work. I have never read that the theme has a title, though I suspect it has. Mr. Rhodes is from Yorkshire, and apparently is still active in writing and performing with his musicians. He has worked with Judy Garland, Mel Tormé, Pearl Bailey (and with Pearl's husband Louie Bellson,) and Sammy Davis, Jr amongst others. One of his most famous scores was for the OO7 film Dr. No. Never having seen the American version of the programme (Good Neighbours) I can't say if they used the same score. I hope that helps! Ten years on nearly, but the show opening and theme were the same in the UK and US, except the US version had a cheaply done overlay for the show's title ("Good Neighbors", rather than "The Good Life") as the bird wound its way around the flower.
