Does anyone know where they filmed those opening shots of the "studio audience," and were the audience members aware that they were used on this show?
Was this even filmed before a live audience? I suspect the laughter and applause were dubbed in later. Regardless, it was all very much deserved.
I am pretty sure the elderly folks who look dazed and confused at the beginning of "Fernwood tonite" episodes are not the audience you hear for the show (even though there may well have been a live audience). However when the show went to "America 2nite", you see a very lively audience cheering and applauding. I would be willing to bet those people are really the live audience for those shows ("America").
