shareI've just watched the episodes – after the complete "MH2," of course, thankyouverymuch, Shout Factory! This was wonderfully loopy experimental television that had little to do with "MH2" except for sharing the same inspired lunacy and the appearance of Martin Mull. I wish I had been able to see these episodes when they aired, but I wouldn't know what to make of them. Then again, I still don't know what to make of them, but I love this show nonetheless. It's strange that some of the episodes available on the Shout Factory release of "MH2" are not listed here.
This is the sort of parody that would finally find its audience with "It's Garry Shandling's Show" and the like, but it was probably a bit too bizarre to find a substantial audience in 1977. Perhaps it took its cue from "The Gong Show" and ran with it.
Even though the writers are credited, I suspect much of this was improvised. It seems like very spontaneous television.
