Just out of curiosity, which show do you like better. EiE or BB? Me, EiE wins hands down. And how would you rate, David vs Greg, or Peter vs Tommy, or Nicholas vs Bobby. Which would be the better character in your book. And, finally, what made EiE better than the BB? Or BB better than EiE.
shareI really liked both shows but I liked Eight is Enough better because it had more drama and substance to it. I think characters in The Brady Bunch were just a little bit too perfect for me while the kids (and adults) in Eight is Enough had more flaws and seemed more real to me. Plus, the death of Joan and the addition of Abby gave EIE a little bit more complexity. Then again, I guess Carol Brady was technically a stepmother to Greg, Peter and Bobby but the show seemed to gloss over that pretty quickly. LOL!
Comparing Greg, Peter and Bobby to David, Tommy and Nicholas is a bit interesting. I liked all six of the characters (the Brady Boys were the cutest!) but I would say I liked Tommy and Nicholas the most as they seemed to be the most fleshed out of the group. Then I liked Peter, Greg, Bobby and David.
In the end, I think EiE is the better show simply because they were an hour long show and dealt with topics such as teen pregnancy, the pill, death, underage drinking, etc. Brady Bunch never would have touched those topics. They were just a bit too perfect. But I guess that's what makes them fun to watch. I just liked the drama and substance of Eight is Enough better. Plus, I'm a huge fan of Betty Buckley as Abby. :)
