Does anyone know if the TV series "Raven" (1977) will ever come out on DVD? It was written by the same people who wrote "Children of the Stones" (which I haven't seen). I only have vague memories of "Raven" as I saw it more than twenty years ago, but I remember it being quite eerie. Has there been any word of a release?
AN ABANDONED boy (a pre-QUADROPHENIA PHIL DANIELS) is adopted by a kindly, wheelchair-ridden archaeologist investigating a series of caves under a stone circle. The government want to store radioactive waste there. Cue dragons, skulls, strong Arthurian links, signs of the Zodiac and all that jazz. (TV Cream)
I was about six years old when I saw "Raven". (It's strange how things stay with you for so many years.) The main thing I remembered was this young medieval king who would materialize like a ghost every now and then, and press his thumb on people's foreheads. Little did I realize he would turn out to be the same guy who narrates the Blur song "Parklife"! I recently read the novelization of "Raven" and that filled in the rest of the story for me. It made me want to see the series again. Which is why I hope it'll come out on DVD one day.
