CHiPs Season 5 DVDs being released March 2017

Like the headers says, TVShowsonDVD.com announced a March, 2017 release for the 5th season of CHiPs.

I wish they would have just release seasons 5 and 6 at the same time. I know a lot of people didn't like season 6, but I would like to have the complete series. I watched this show during its original run and watched it in reruns ever since. I hope they release season 6 pretty soon and don't wait years after season 5 is released.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

Right on schedule, we get a new season every March, pathetically slow. Season 6 won't come out until March 2018 now. It's sad because all six seasons are digitally available on itunes, it shouldn't be that hard for WB to port them over to DVD, they've already created the artwork for them.

Not exactly. While the season 3, 4 & 5 releases came out in March of 2015, 2016 and now 2017, there was an 7 year gap in between the season 2 and 3 releases.

That's what I'm afraid will happen with Season 6. I liked season 6, not as much as seasons 1-5 when it was Ponch and Jon, but I still liked it. But a lot of fans don't like season 6 and if season 5 doesn't sell well we may never see season 6 or it could be years.

That's why I wished they had released both seasons at the same time to get them all out.

It could end up like the final season DVD release of Charlie's Angels. They released seasons 1 in 2003 & 2 in 2004, then 3 in 2006, another 3 years before 4 came out in 2009. Then the releases stalled because season 5 was an unpopular season and they figured no one would buy it. 4 years after season 4 was released they finally released the final season in 2013, but not until a year after they had released a complete series set.

The fifth season of Charlie's Angels wasn't as popular with fans, just like the 6th season of CHiPs.

I'm afraid we may not see a season 6 release until after they do a Complete Series set. Then it will probably be a Manufactured on Demand set like they did with the final season of Charlie's Angels.

I ended up buying the Charlie's Angels complete series set even though I already had seasons 1-4 because the complete series set(which had pressed disks for all 5 seasons) was $24.99 and the manufactured on demand season 5 set was about $40.00 by itself.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

I was being facetious, I'm well aware of the release schedule of the DVDs so far and the many years between seasons 2 & 3.

If you want to see what the packaging artwork for Seasons 5 & 6 look like just go to the Apple iTunes store, they've already been created a long time ago. It's not that hard to port them over to DVD and they've released the last 3 seasons every March so I would say confidently Season 6 will be arriving by March 2018, especially since there's a new CHiPs reboot movie due next year.
