The only other episode I can remember where Red K is used is when it gives Superman extra hands that he can't control.

You must be watching "Uncle Mxyzptlk" from Season 9 (Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show). The episode you maybe thinking of could be "Terror from the Phantom Zone" from Season 4 (Super Friends '78). And Red Kryptonite has strange effects on Superman and has ALAWYS been fatal to the Man of Steel.

"Revenge of Bizarro", a 7 min. short from full episode(which contained three 7.min shorts) durring Season 6(Super Friends '80).

Absolutely. In the episode 'Terror from the Phantom Zone', the red Kryptonite turns him old.

According to the Justice League computer, the only possible antidote was blue Kryptonite which, though harmful to Bizarro, proved to be helpful to Superman, as it reversed the effects of the red Kryptonite.

Red Kryptonite truly has different effects. In the same episode when Batman and Wonder Woman expose the three villians to the red Kryptonite, all three undergo strange changes in appearance. One is turned into metal. One is shrunk. One is changed into what looks like a monkey with long, red hair.

That's probably more than you wanted to know about red Kryptonite, but hey, aren't we all here to learn something? :)

Thanks for reading. Have a great day! :)

If it's useless information, chances are I already know it!

Green kryptonite was fatal, after prolonged exposure, but red produced unpredictable effects. This was a staple of the 50s Superman comics, which carried over here. There was also gold kryptonite, which could permanently remove Superman's powers, blue, which only affected Bizarro, jewel, white and possibly a couple of others.

The Red K stories could be a lot of fun, as it let the writers and artists go wild, since the normal rules didn't apply. The same was true of the "imaginary stories." These were used to marry or kill characters, with no consequences to the regular stories.
