Different editions of the movie

I am interested in inquiring about the different versions available for this movie. Actually, my father was an officer on the ship were the movie was filmed in 1975 (the italian ship "Irpinia" of the "Siosa Line" company). He also played as an extra-actor in a couple of short scenes when the ship docks at the Avana, which I could see when the movie was shown at the cinema (in Italy) in 1976.

Few years ago I tried to get a VHS tape of that movie to make a gift to my father. After a long search I found an italian edition distribuited by "Fonit-Cetra". Actually it was an home-video edition, so many scenes had ben cut from it to make
it fit in 120 minutes length. The saved one scene were there was my father, but they cutted the best one.

I continued inquiring about the different versions of the movie and I found out that the UK edition of the VHS tape lasted 150 minutes. Therefore I ordered a copy from a UK distributor. I just got it, it has many more scenes, but not the one I was looking for.

Now looking on the IMDB site I read that the US version lasts 180 minutes. Is there anyone who has info about the different versions available for this movie?
Or if there is anyone having the 180 minutes version so that I can ask some questions about that edition.

Thanks, -Giuseppe

Another awful case of multiple cut versions, I'm afraid. The one I watched was 129 minutes long (PAL time)!!! You could even spot leftover frames between cuts!

I just watched the 7 minute version, it was quite sloppily editted.
