Incredible.

This movie really blew me away.
The story is good enough but the cinematography steals this movie.

The characters were portrayed perfect. I actually got a feeling of what they were feeling.
The distant shots and the closeups of all the faces gave me a real feeling of each character.

Two soldiers each very different from each other. Each trying to survive the only way
they know how but depending on each other.
The haunting shots in this movie will stay with you for awhile.
So unfortunate the director Larisa Shepitko died at such an early age.
She was only 41.
I look forward to watching her other films.
