A Forgotten '70's Movie!

I remember watching Trackdown in theatres when it was released and I
was a teenager then. James Mitchum, Cathy Lee Crosby, Erik Estrada
and Anne Archer turned in decent performances. And this was slightly
over one year before Chips would turn Estrada into a big tv star. At
the time I wasn't familiar with Anne Archer and didn't know that
Big James Mitchum was the actor son of Robert Mitchum. Remember
that back then there was no internet, pc's were just coming into
existence and cellular phones were at least another ten years away.
I immediately took a liking to the young Erik Estrada and something
back then told me that he'd make it big in Hollywood which of course
he did and before this movie he'd done a guest shot in Night Stalker
with star Darren McGavin as a young victim of an ancient Mayan
curse. For those of you who haven't seen this episode then you're
in for a real treat especially for Erik Estrada fans! And sadly
actress Karen Lamm who'd played Jim's sister Betsy Calhoun's
character died young of an apparent drug overdose. She had been
married to musician Robert Lamm of the band Chicago and twice to
Dennis Wilson of Beach Boys fame. A sad ending to what had been
a promising career.
